Colombia...
a new path
Colombia is the only country in South America with
coastlines on both the North Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. The Climate of
Colombia is characterized for being tropical and isothermal as a result of its
geographical location near the Equator presenting variations within five natural
regions and depending on the altitude, temperature, humidity, winds and
rainfall.
Colombia is
the only South American country with extensive coastlines on the Caribbean
Sea and the Pacific Ocean. The majority of the Caribbean beaches are located
close to urban centers with excellent hospitality services for the tourist
while they enjoy sun, breeze and sea.
In Cartagena
the tourist can do everything without doing anything! Walk the walls of the
pasts, the narrow streets protected from the Caribbean sun, the maze of
churches, tombs, colonial houses, plazas, parks and castles that house the
New Continent treasures. Twenty two miles south-west of Cartagena and
ninety minutes by boat, the Rosario islands are a haven for water sports
such as sailing, swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling.
A few
kilometers from Garcia Marquez’s “Macondo” lies the beautiful city of Santa
Marta located in one of the loveliest bays of the Caribbean Sea. Santa
Martha is the point of departure of visiting interesting places that awaken
the senses for the adventure and ecological tourism by trekking the Tayrona
Park at the feet of the majestic Sierra Nevada.
The
archipielago of San Andres y Providencia rises in the midst of the warm and
clear waters of the Caribbean and evokes a remote past of buccaneer and
pirate adventures invaded by peacefulness and good humor. Exploring San
Andres and the sister Island of Providencia, the visitor is submerged in the
pervasive enchantment of the Caribbean: full of life, rhythmical and
decidedly tropical.
